Re-usable die-cut camo mask set

Suitable for 35th scale WWII German Armor

The set includes one sheet of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesnt leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi transparent for easy and accurate placing.

Field Applied

Camouflage was a common practice with German Armor in the late stages of the Second World War and especially on the Eastern Front. In time, more and more information about various pieces appeared in the history books and especially after the initial years of the social media platforms. It quickly became obvious that Germans used whatever they could to hide their vehicles from the enemy and with that, some especially creative patterns appeared. For example, Disk Camouflage as well as hard edge splinter camo schemes were seen on armor like Hummel, Tiger I and II, Panther, Nashorn, etc. Giraffe camouflage pattern was also used on smaller armor pieces, such as Grille and Hetzer.

Nashorn Camouflage

used as a basis in this set was a demo scheme and was first applied on a captured vehicle that is displayed in Kubinka museum in Russia. The paintjob was done after the piece was restored and before it was displayed to the public. The paint was applied with hard and wide brush strokes with various colors, which slightly deviated from the actual pattern documented through the years. Usually, the strokes was somewhat similar, but only in one color due to the constant lack of paints and resources of any kind on the field. Of course, this camouflage paint mask set can be used to recreate the pattern displayed in Kubinka, but it can also be used with various painting techniques and on different vehicles too. The application of masks does not restrict the modeler from using airbrush, paint brush or sponge techniques applying the paint. All those are possible and even combination in between. The camouflage paint mask set is designed to serve as a helping tool in the painting process and specifics of the pattern is a personal preference of the modeler.
